The Thomas Jefferson Model of the United Nations, abbreviatedTJMUN, is a student simulation of the United Nations which takes place at the beginning of December each year. This year the Instituto Thomas Jefferson is celebrating its sixth anniversary. The event, which took place between December 6th and 8th, is a very good exercise for students to make them aware of the real world and real problems that the UN member states face. On this occasion 14 colleges participated with 10 committees and 260 delegates. The committees were Disarmament, ECOSOC, General Assembly, Human Rights, INTERPOL, Security Council, UNICEF 1,2 3 and WHO. The event was a success with 360 students participating.
