Easter Egg Hunt!

APF's Moms  prepared a fun holiday activity for our children,  the object of this Easter activity was to find the eggs hidden all around our playground.
Everyone had a fun and great time seeking and finding eggs and chocolates.
Thank you APF for all your wonderful work just to make our children smile!

PBL "Nutrition"

Last Friday, May 8th, the PF children had their PBL presentation. After many weeks of work that started with the reading of a book, they had their parents come over and have a little taste of their everyday at school. The project was a total sucess, children with parents had the chance to enjoy a moment together creating an "eat well plate" to be presented to teachers and peers.

PBL The Vietnam War

Vietnam from the 1950's to the 1970's, Hippies and The Cold War was the debate for History and World Affairs this year.  The 8th grade students along with their parents participated in and keenly argued their points, with the students assuming the liberal (hippie) stance and their parents the conservative one that the U.S. high command had in those days. It was an amazing experience to see the students debating against their parents and demonstrating their knowledge that they had acquired through the bimester, as well as all the language and ciritical thinking skills they already posses. The whole community of parents, students and teachers were delighted with the experience.

Len White

On April 29th, Thomas Jefferson Institute Zona Esmeralda had the honor of receiving Len White who has vast experience in animation and coding. His most remarkable projects include the popular videogame “Call of Duty” and  Feature Film Visual Effects of movies such as Matrix, Spiderman, Avatar, Rugrats and The Polar Express to name a few.

Mr. White had a conference with Upper Elementary and Middle School students showing his work and teaching them the main concepts of animation. He later interacted with the students in a workshop during which they asked him about his work, his opinions about new technologies and trends in the videogame  industry. It was an amazing experience for our students and they were very excited to learn from him.

Kid`s Day 2015

On April 30, the children had an incredible day thanks to the enthusiastic staff of  moms, who transformed our school in to  a fabulous circus. Our kids enjoyed flying in the Bunge, playing carnival games and jumping in the inflatables. And they could not miss the food offerings, delicious fries tacos, quesadillas, hot dogs, cotton candy and fruit brochettes left the children satisfied. Thank you for a wonderful day!

Mother's Day!

Moms are the most important people in our lives! They deserve the best in the world! For that reason, our children performed beautiful dances for them in a Throwback Thursday. The presentation was full of surprises as kids danced yesterday hits!
