TJMUN XIX edition

Sixteen students of Middle School participated in the TJMUN Santa Monica in its XIX edition, having a wonderful experience and learning about current events happening in our world. Students worked very hard throughout the three days in which the model was carried on, they exercised different skills and abilities such as investigation, critical thinking and oral expression, among others. Students took home a different perspective on how international problems are solved and how does the international community cooperate to make the world a better place to live. It was a great experience!!

Keep it Real

Yes, we know, by now you are probably Project Based Learning experts, but why do we talk so much about it? Because PBL brings authentic, empowering experiences from the world into the school. It keeps learning real. This bimester,  5th grade  led the “Class President” project  for all of Upper Elementary and we know that what our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders learned will be with them for the rest of their lives. They learned about political campaign rules, budget and logistics. They learned directly from  IFE how voting booths are set up, monitored and how the results are counted and published. They learned how the people that work in the voting booths are chosen and trained and what happens when someone doesn’t show up on election day. They learned that their vote is their voice and choice.  Keeping it real will lead to real changes. Just wait and see.

Music Speaks

Hans Christian Andersen once said, “When words fail, music speaks.” Music speaks to us of times long gone. It reminds us of the greatness that is inside each one of us. It helps us to believe again. All of Upper Elementary had the privilege of enjoying a private concert by a group of musicians from the Philharmonic Orchestra of Querétaro. The pieces they played went from Vivaldi, to Pachelbel, to Gardel, and with each song we learned a little and lived a lot. Music spoke to us, and we loved what it had to say.

Proyecto Hortaliza
