It takes a lot to build a well in Africa... Ryan was just 6 years old when he did it in Uganda! That was the beginning of a beautiful story we listened on May 3rd when Ryan Hreljac came to our school to talk about the great experience of sharing and caring. But the most important is that our kids, from 1st to 8th grade, realized that the world needs good people to make the difference as Ryan did!!!
Fashion Fest 2013 from ITJ-Qro on Vimeo.
We all learn through different intelligences. Some of us are visual, musical, kinesthetic or interpersonal. Last March 6th we had the concert of a band that helps us learn through many of these intelligences while having a LOT of fun. The Banana Slug String Band is a group that composes songs with academic contents and whose music is part of the KLU (Knowledge and Learning Unlimited) science program that we use in school. After listening to the songs in the classroom and during recess, we sang and danced and had a great concert! With songs about plants, animals and green energy we were reminded of the importance of our participation in preserving our environment. It is a serious topic, but if we all try our best, working towards a better world will be just as fun as the concert of The Banana Slug String Band.
